Export of Soybean Oil to Emerging Markets
The General Company for Iraq Ports has confirmed the successful export of 40,000 tons of soybean oil to ports in Pakistan and India. This operation was facilitated through the southern port of Umm Qasr, which is undergoing a transformation into an industrial zone.
According to the company’s official statement, the soybean oil was exported from platform No. 2 at Umm Qasr, utilizing tanks operated by the company. This development marks a strategic entry into the promising markets of Pakistan and India.
The company has emphasized that the conversion of a portion of the southern port into an industrial zone includes the establishment of a factory dedicated to oil and fodder production in partnership with joint operating companies. This initiative represents a significant step towards enhancing the region’s industrial capabilities.
This shipment marks the fourth instance of Iraq exporting high-quality vegetable oils via the southern port of Umm Qasr. The company anticipates that this achievement will open new avenues for the export of Iraqi agricultural products to broader global markets.
