Currency Exchange Update: US Dollar Gains Against Iraqi Dinar and Syrian Lira
The exchange rate of the US dollar saw an increase of 1,500 dinars against the Iraqi dinar yesterday. Additionally, the Syrian lira experienced a decline.
“Today, 100 US dollars is equivalent to 148,500 dinars,” stated Rawaz Mirza, a currency exchange operator based in Sulaimani.
For comparison, just yesterday, 100 US dollars was valued at 147,000 dinars. The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) did not release any liquidity into the market yesterday, and an official reason for this decision was not provided.
The current exchange rate for 1 million Syrian liras stands at 154,000 dinars, down from 163,000 dinars the previous day.
In other regional currency markets, the US dollar traded at an exchange rate of 9.2 million Iranian rials and at 3,500 Turkish liras.
