The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Ali Ma’arj, announced an ambitious target for oil production during a recent statement at a significant energy conference. The ministry’s objective is to elevate oil production to approximately 7 million barrels per day over the next five years.

In his address at the “Iraq Energy” conference, Ma’arj emphasized that enhancing production capacity is one of the primary goals of the Iraqi Oil Ministry. The strategic initiative is designed not only to sustain domestic demand but also to capitalize on global energy markets.

Furthermore, the ministry is focusing on the efficient treatment of natural gas, with a goal of achieving zero percent flaring of associated gas. This initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at ceasing the importation of oil derivatives in the near future, positioning Iraq to become more self-sufficient in energy resources.
