Iraq Ranks Among World Leaders in Dollar Sale Control

Central Bank Governor Ali Al-Alaq asserted on Saturday that Iraq has emerged as one of the leading nations globally in regulating the sale of the US dollar.

In an official statement, Al-Alaq emphasized, “Iraq today stands out as one of the premier countries in the world regarding dollar sale control. This process is conducted with utmost transparency and accuracy, thereby ensuring that citizens possess the necessary documentation when traveling abroad.” He further elaborated that, “This mechanism exhibits the highest level of discipline and transparency, a sentiment echoed by international experts.”

Al-Alaq cautioned that misinformation and media distortions could adversely affect the interests of Iraq and its banking sector. He underscored the importance of recognizing and taking pride in the significant advancements made within the country.

He stated that “the government and the Central Bank are diligently working to uphold sound and consistent practices,” urging the need to showcase these accomplishments in public discourse.

Moreover, Al-Alaq noted that promoting these transformations and advancements is crucial for fostering international confidence in the Iraqi banking sector, which is essential for the ongoing development of Iraq’s financial system.
