The General Company for Iraq Ports has released significant statistics regarding maritime activities for January 2025. According to the Director General, Farhan Al-Fartousi, Iraqi ports hosted over 300 commercial and oil tanker vessels during this period.

Monthly Statistics

In detail, a total of 341 vessels, including oil tankers, were recorded in various Iraqi ports. This figure underscores the critical role these ports play in facilitating trade and logistics.

Port Breakdown

  • Oil Ports: There were 74 oil tankers registered in the oil ports located in the Arabian Gulf.
  • Umm Qasr Ports: The ports of Umm Qasr Al-Shamali and Al-South collectively hosted 161 ships and carriers.
  • Khor Al-Zubair Port: This specialized port saw the registration of 68 vessels and carriers, alongside 8 tankers at the liquefied gas port and 29 vessels at the Abu Flos port.

On February’s second Sunday, the General Company for Iraq Ports further reported the arrival of 11 oil tankers at the Khor Al-Zubair Specialized Port, highlighting ongoing maritime activity in this crucial hub.
