Iraq Leads in Grain Imports from Türkiye: February Update

Economy News – Baghdad

According to recent confirmations from the Turkish Ministry of Trade and Industry, Iraq has emerged as the leading importer of grains, legumes, and related products from Türkiye for February.

The Ministry’s statistics indicate that Turkey’s sales of essential food products—including wheat flour, vegetable oils, pasta, biscuits, sugary products, and cocoa—totaled $1.2 billion. This reflects a 2% increase in exports of these goods compared to the same period last year.

In terms of export destinations, Iraq ranks first, followed by the United States in second place and Syria in third. Additionally, African nations represent the second-largest group of importers, following those from the Middle East.
