Economy Update – Baghdad
The Iraqi Drilling Company, operating under the Ministry of Oil, has officially launched drilling activities for the first well as part of an initiative to drill 18 oil wells within the southeastern Baghdad field.
This information was detailed in a statement issued by the Ministry, which outlined that “the commencement of operations for the first well is a key part of the 18-well drilling project in the southeastern Baghdad area,
in partnership with the Chinese company EBS, aligning with strategic plans aimed at bolstering the oil sector in Iraq.”
The project is set to enhance oil production capabilities and advance the development of oil fields, thereby contributing to the growth of the national economy. The company has pledged to adhere to the highest standards of quality and professional safety in accordance with established technical plans.
Furthermore, the statement emphasized that “the technical and engineering team remains dedicated to achieving high efficiency and exceptional progress in line with the Ministry of Oil’s objectives to elevate production levels and improve oil field infrastructure.”
