The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has officially announced the suspension of work hours for next Sunday.

In a statement, the General Secretariat noted that “the decision to halt official working hours on Sunday, March 16, 2025, coincides with the anniversary commemorating the atrocities perpetrated by the Saddam Baathist regime against the Iraqi populace, which includes the Halabja massacre, the Anfal campaign, mass graves, the popular uprising, targeted assassinations of scholars, and assaults on political parties.”

Additionally, the statement referenced the decision as being in accordance with Article (1/ First/ L) of the Official Holiday Law No. (12) of 2024.
