Iraq Boosts LPG Car Gas Outlets Amid Surging Demand

The Iraqi Oil Products Distribution Company has reported a notable increase in liquid petroleum gas (LPG) consumption for the month of January, as distributed through its various outlets and those of the gas filling company across the nation.

According to Hussein Talib, the company’s general manager, citizens consumed 31 million liters of LPG for vehicle use in January, sourced from both distribution and gas packing companies.

The company highlighted the recent inauguration of two new outlets: Nakheel Baghdad in the capital and Wadi Hatlan in Anbar Governorate. This expansion adds to the existing network of 74 gas outlets managed by the distribution company and 53 operated by the gas mobilization company, bringing the total to 127 facilities aimed at meeting the growing demand for vehicle gas among the populace.

Talib noted that the rising demand for LPG is driven by its affordability and various advantages, which have made it a preferred choice among consumers.

In line with this trend, Falah Hashem, the director of equipment, stated that the number of LPG outlets is expected to grow continuously in both government and private stations, thanks to ongoing initiatives by the company. He further indicated that additional outlets are currently nearing completion and will be launched in the near future to bolster service capacity.
