Iraq and Oman Strengthen Economic Ties

On Sunday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shi’a Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to deepening economic and trade relations with the Sultanate of Oman. This declaration followed a meeting with Qais bin Muhammad Al-Youssef, Oman’s Minister of Trade, Industry, and Promotion of Investment, and his delegation.

During their discussions, Al-Sudani and Al-Youssef reviewed the bilateral relations between Iraq and Oman, identifying avenues for enhancing cooperation across various sectors, with an emphasis on economic and commercial collaboration. The aim is to bolster partnerships and foster trade to address the ongoing economic challenges faced in the region.

Al-Sudani expressed Iraq’s aspiration for increased integration within its economic and commercial frameworks, highlighting the country’s developmental resources in the investment arena. This comes in the context of comprehensive reforms that have been implemented recently, further positioning Iraq as a viable investment opportunity.

In response, Al-Youssef conveyed greetings from Oman’s Sultan, Haitham bin Tariq, emphasizing Oman’s eagerness to expand cooperative efforts across a range of fields.

This interaction marks a significant step forward in facilitating stronger economic ties, signifying the mutual desire for enhanced collaboration between the two nations.
