The Brazilian Association for Machinery and Equipment Industry has reported that four key Arab nations, including Iraq, account for a significant 84% of Brazil’s exports to the Arab region.

Strong Export Performance in 2024

According to Patricia Gomez, the Executive Director of the Foreign Market, the Brazilian machinery and equipment sector delivered its second-best export performance in 2024, culminating in total exports valued at $84 billion.

Dominance of Four Countries

The export landscape indicates that the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Iraq collectively absorbed 83.9% of Brazil’s total machinery exports to Arab countries. Notably, oil machinery emerged as the leading product category, representing 65.7% of these exports.

Growth in Demand from Arab Nations

Gomez highlighted a robust increase in the purchasing activity from Arab nations, as the total export value to this region reached $722 million—marking a substantial 63.8% increase compared to 2023.
