Ministry of Oil Achieves Liquid Gas Self-Sufficiency and Begins Exporting Surplus
Izzat Saber Ismail, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, announced the Ministry’s success in achieving self-sufficiency in liquid gas and initiating exports of the surplus to international markets. He emphasized the role of investment projects in advancing the national industry, highlighting the necessity of supporting the manufacture of rail and plastic cylinders in adherence to internationally approved specifications.
Ismail detailed the importance of establishing effective mechanisms for marketing and local consumption, collaborating with relevant agencies within the gas filling and services sector. This coordinated approach aims to fulfill the aligned objectives between the Ministry and the investment projects. The Ministry reported that daily production levels now exceed 8,000 tons, contributing to a development strategy focused on enhancing liquid gas usage over various liquid fuels.
In addition, Ismail noted that bolstering investment initiatives targeting industrial, service, and residential projects will further support the increased consumption of liquid gas. This strategy is integral to transitioning energy consumption patterns in the region.
