Iran Exports Agricultural Products to Iraq
The Governorate of Ilam in Iran announced today the successful export of 294,472 tons of various agricultural products to Iraq, facilitated through the Mahran International border crossing.
According to Sahrab Kamri, the general manager of the Market Governorate, these exports are valued at approximately $123.03 million. The products exported included significant quantities of watermelon, apples, cucumbers, tomatoes, and oranges.
Kamri further stated that total exports from the Mahran border to Iraq, along with other countries, reached $1.462 billion from the beginning of last year through the end of October. This total accounted for a substantial weight of 2.448 million tons of goods exported.
On average, about 400 trucks per day transport commercial and export goods across the border to Iraq, following the completion of necessary customs procedures.
This robust trade activity underscores the ongoing economic collaboration between Iran and Iraq, particularly in the agricultural sector.
