Ilam Customs Reports Over $114 Million in Agricultural Exports Through Mehran Border in Just 10 Months

Customs Data from Ilam Province: Iraq’s Agricultural Exports Surpass 270,000 Tons

On Wednesday, December 29, 2025, Suhrab Kamari, Director of Ilam Customs, reported that from March 21, 2024, to January 21, 2025, more than 270,950 tons of agricultural products were exported through the Mehran border gate in Iraq.

According to Kamari, the total value of these agricultural exports amounted to over $114 million and $128 thousand.

Categories of agricultural products exported included onions, apples, cucumbers, tomatoes, and oranges, which represent the highest volume of exports during the specified period.

Kamari further disclosed that overall imports through the Mehran border gate during these ten months reached 2.223 million tons, with a total valuation exceeding $1.311 billion.

Among the most notable imports, Kamari highlighted petrochemical products, equipment, specific construction materials, ceramic tiles, plastic goods, and agricultural commodities, which dominated import activities over the past ten months.

The Mehran border gate is situated approximately 85 kilometers southeast of Ilam city and connects Iran to the Wasit province of Iraq.
