Gold Prices Rise in Baghdad and Erbil Markets

On February 4, 2025, gold prices for both foreign and Iraqi gold experienced an upward trend in local markets across Baghdad and Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.

In Baghdad, wholesale market reports indicate that the price for one weight of 21-carat gold from the Gulf, Turkey, and Europe stands at 595,000 dinars for sale, while the purchasing price is recorded at 591,000 dinars. Meanwhile, Iraqi gold is being sold at 565,000 dinars per weight, with a purchase price of 561,000 dinars.

In goldsmith stores, the price range for 21-carat Gulf gold fluctuates between 595,000 and 605,000 dinars. For Iraqi gold, the selling price is between 565,000 and 575,000 dinars.

In Erbil, similar increases were noted. The market prices for gold are as follows:

  • 24-carat gold: 675,000 dinars
  • 22-carat gold: 618,000 dinars
  • 21-carat gold: 590,000 dinars
  • 18-carat gold: 505,000 dinars

This trend highlights the growing interest and demand for gold within these regions, reflecting broader economic dynamics.
