Gold Prices Surge in Baghdad Markets While Remaining Steady in Erbil – January 2025 Update

On January 30, 2025, gold prices for both foreign and Iraqi varieties witnessed an increase in Baghdad’s local market, while remaining stable in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.

In the wholesale markets along the River Evangelization in Baghdad, the price for 21-carat gold from Gulf, Turkish, and European sources was reported at 588,000 dinars for sales, with a purchasing price of 584,000 dinars.

Additionally, the selling price for one weight of 21-carat Iraqi gold was marked at 558,000 dinars, while the purchase price stood at 554,000 dinars.

In terms of retail prices from goldsmith shops, the selling price for 21-carat Gulf gold ranged between 590,000 and 600,000 dinars, whereas the selling price for Iraqi gold fluctuated between 560,000 and 570,000 dinars.

Conversely, in Erbil, the gold market remained stable with 24-carat gold priced at 666,000 dinars, 22-carat selling for 610,000 dinars, 21-carat at 583,000 dinars, and 18-carat at 500,000 dinars.
