Federal Finance to Release February Salaries for Kurdistan Employees Soon

Federal Ministry to Disburse Salaries for Kurdistan Region Employees

An informed source has disclosed that the Federal Ministry of Finance is set to initiate the financing of employee salaries in the Kurdistan region within the next two days.

According to the source, the regional government’s submitted payroll lists have been scrutinized, paving the way for salary disbursement to commence imminently. The Federal Ministry of Finance is expected to allocate 950 billion dinars specifically for the payment of February salaries. Following this allocation, the regional government will issue a payment schedule for the distribution of salaries.

On March 1, a responsible Kurdish source indicated that the Ministry of Finance would be facilitating the payment of February salaries for regional employees by the middle of the following week. However, this timeline is shadowed by ongoing disputes regarding the framework of the agreement between the Kurdistan region and the federal government.

Concerns have emerged, with the source expressing apprehension that the Kurdistan regional government has not adhered to the stipulations set forth in the agreement with Baghdad, which could potentially complicate the salary payment process.

In related developments, Ribwar Muhammad Amin, a member of the Kurdistan Justice Party, previously affirmed that federal banking institutions have shown readiness to support the localization of salaries for employees in the Kurdistan region.
