Wadih Nuri Al-Handal, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Handal International Group, emphasized that the establishment of the station seven years ago stemmed from an innovative vision presented by a group of talented and ambitious Iraqi youth. This vision inspired confidence in their ability to drive meaningful change, prompting a collaborative effort to create this institution.
During a speech marking the seventh anniversary of the station’s founding, Al-Handal acknowledged the successful progression of this initiative, highlighting its significant societal impact. He reaffirmed his belief in the potential of Iraqi youth, noting their creativity and innovation resulting from their strategic partnership with the station. Under the guidance of a new generation of leaders, Al-Handal International Group has focused on delivering valuable opportunities to empower Iraqi youth. This includes capacity building, project financing, and enhancing their participation in the private sector labor market.
Al-Handal also pointed out the station’s role in amplifying youth perspectives, which have influenced the leaders of the Iraqi state and contributed to the revision of multiple policies aligned with their aspirations.
Over the course of its operation, the station has executed more than 100 projects aimed at the training and empowerment of young individuals. These initiatives feature interactive workshops, specialized courses in technical and professional skills, and intensive training camps designed to foster entrepreneurship. Complementing these projects, motivational activities and competitions have been organized to allow youth to showcase their ideas and innovations, significantly enhancing their skill sets and fostering connections with the private sector.
Additionally, the Foundation is committed to transforming the Iraqi economy by empowering youth and developing practical solutions that foster sustainable growth within the private sector. Strategic partnerships with entities such as Zain Iraq, Earthlink, GIZ, the French embassy, and the American embassy have focused on supporting development projects and executing specialized training programs to enhance youth capabilities and drive economic development forward.
Al-Handal concluded by reaffirming Al-Handal International Group’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment. He reiterated that continued support for young individuals will contribute to building a brighter future, emphasizing their role as the future leaders of the nation. This support will be sustained through the station, which has demonstrated its capacity to achieve success and broaden its impact.
