Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has called for the isolation of a federal judge whose recent ruling restricts access to U.S. Treasury payment systems. This decision contrasts the access granted to civil service employees, who are allowed to fulfill their job responsibilities.
The judge’s ruling specifically prohibits certain federal employees, including Musk and various political appointees from the Trump administration, from temporarily reviewing the Treasury’s payment systems, citing concerns over the potential exposure of sensitive information.
Musk expressed his frustration on social media early Sunday, highlighting his discontent with the judicial decision. In one response to a conservative commentator, Musk stated, “A corrupt judge protects corruption; must be isolated now.”
Further commenting on the situation, Musk indicated it was time for accountability, referencing calls for the dismissal of judges who have ruled against Trump’s administration’s decisions.
The order was issued by U.S. District Judge Paul Ingelamer in Manhattan, who emphasized the necessity of the ruling in order to mitigate the risks associated with potentially mishandling sensitive data.
