On Monday, Aref Al-Hamami, a member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, leveled serious allegations against the Ministry of Oil for awarding a strategic oil project to a company registered in Israel. He has called on regulatory authorities to initiate an investigation into the matter.
Al-Hamami stated in a public declaration that the Ministry of Oil has referred an essential project for oil export from southern ports, specifically involving the third marine pipeline, to a Turkish company lacking specialization, which is also registered in Israel. He emphasized that this decision contravenes established guidelines related to direct contracting and is associated with exorbitant costs.
Furthermore, Al-Hamami expressed concern about the potential waste of public funds, citing documentation that substantiates his claims. He urged the respective oversight and integrity bodies to halt the contract until the validity of the information can be thoroughly assessed.
