Baghdad’s New Housing Initiative: 1 Million Units in 2 Years

Hammoudi Al-Lami, the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Industry, Development, and the Private Sector, announced on Saturday that new residential cities have received approval under a revised governmental and political framework. He emphasized that the construction of housing units is expected to be completed within the next two years.

In a televised statement, Al-Lami elaborated that these residential cities will offer integrated services, catering to essential needs such as schools, markets, health centers, and other vital amenities.

Al-Lami highlighted that over one million housing units will be established across all governorates, facilitated by various investors in alignment with governmental policy. The Prime Minister reiterated that the construction of these housing units is planned to reach completion within the stipulated two-year timeframe.
