On Thursday, Hayam Al-Yasiri, the Minister of Communications, announced a new initiative aimed at establishing complimentary electronic platforms and applications designed to facilitate access to solar energy systems for Iraqi households. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to train individuals across all governmental institutions on ISO Energy standards.
In a statement, the ministry highlighted that Minister Al-Yasiri presided over a comprehensive meeting with the national energy support team, which included former MP YNADIM Kanna and representatives from several relevant ministries and governmental agencies. The meeting focused on the team’s work across various ministries, discussing ongoing efforts to promote the transition towards the use of clean energy while minimizing harmful environmental emissions.
Minister Al-Yasiri introduced a series of initiatives aimed at bolstering these efforts, emphasizing the importance of supporting the national team’s objectives to foster a cleaner energy landscape in Iraq. Among her directives, she emphasized the creation of user-friendly electronic platforms that would provide Iraqi families with resources and guidance on acquiring solar energy systems. These platforms will also support citizens in applying for solar energy loans, while stressing the value of awareness and education in clean energy practices.
Additionally, Al-Yasiri called for the initiation of free training programs for candidates in all governmental institutions, leveraging specialized technical expertise within the ministry. She underlined the significance of disseminating promotional materials aimed at aligning with governmental goals and striving towards sustainable clean energy solutions.
Notably, Minister Hayam Al-Yasiri has previously championed the adoption of solar energy initiatives within her ministry. A comprehensive field survey was conducted, leading to the selection of 20 pilot sites for implementation across Baghdad and the provinces as the initial stage of this transformative project.
