Majid Shankali, Chairman of the Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee, announced that the committee will collaborate closely with the Council of Ministers to facilitate the employment of graduates from medical and nursing colleges and institutes.
In a recent meeting led by Representative Shankali and attended by Muzahim Al-Khayyat, Chairman of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, as well as several members for the 2022-2023 term, the committee reviewed pressing employment issues within the health sector. The statement revealed that the degrees related to deletions and additions from the 2017 budget law have been invalidated. To address ongoing recruitment needs, the Ministry of Health will send detailed schedules of deletion and creation grades for the years 2018 through 2022 to the Ministry of Finance. This process aims to validate and utilize any remaining grades for the appointment of eligible graduates in accordance with Medical Graduation Law No. (6) of 2000 and its subsequent amendments. A resolution is expected within a maximum timeframe of ten days.
Shankali emphasized that if sufficient job vacancies cannot be guaranteed for all remaining graduates, data concerning the graduates of the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 cohorts will be submitted to include them in hiring plans for the year 2025. The committee is committed to working with the Council of Ministers to promote their appointment.
Furthermore, Shankali clarified that amending the medical gradient law will not exclude the graduates of the 2023 and 2024 batches from receiving appointment opportunities. Should the law be ratified, it would include provisions to guarantee their appointments through legal stipulations.
