Acceleration of Electricity Solutions in Baghdad

On Wednesday, Ziad Ali Fadel, the Minister of Electricity, emphasized the need to expedite procedures related to addressing bottlenecks in Baghdad’s electricity distribution.

In a statement from the Ministry, the Minister highlighted his commitment to advancing projects aimed at mitigating electrical challenges in the capital. He announced that the allocation of land for new electricity stations must be completed within 48 hours. This directive was issued during an extensive meeting with officials from the Baghdad Electricity Distribution Company, aimed at preparing for the upcoming summer season of 2025.

Furthermore, the Minister’s guidance focuses on maximizing the utilization of existing resources by converting available materials into pre-fabricated stations. This strategy is designed to alleviate pressure in the Karkh and Al-Sadr regions throughout the summer months. He has also empowered the relevant distribution branches to facilitate rapid implementation and bypass bureaucratic obstacles.

The Minister instructed officials to enhance collaboration with municipal departments to resolve any issues related to land allocation. He stressed the necessity of finalizing the primary and secondary power supply connections related to lifestyle projects, which are crucial for stabilizing Baghdad’s electrical network.

This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring a reliable energy supply for the residents of Baghdad in the years to come.
