Baghdad to Activate 82 Road Weight Stations in 2025

The Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities has announced the ongoing efforts to operationalize 82 pivot weight stations to monitor road loads, slated for completion by 2025.

According to a statement from the Ministry, it was reported that “the Department of Roads and Bridges, along with the overseeing authority for the project, confirmed that more than 30 central weight stations have been brought into operational service during the previous year and the start of this year.” 

The Ministry further elaborated that “the department aims to introduce approximately 20 additional stations before mid-year, with the remaining installations expected to be finalized by the end of the year.”

These central weight stations have been strategically placed at the entrances to various governorates, border ports, and routes leading to construction material quarries in Baghdad and other governorates. The distribution of these stations includes:
