Economy Update – Baghdad
MP Sherwan Dobardani, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in the Iraqi parliament, has announced a recent agreement between the federal government’s Ministry of Finance and the Kurdistan Regional Government. This agreement pertains to the disbursement of 18 salaries for employees set to retire under the unified federal retirement law.
The terms of the agreement specify that retirees will receive 12 salaries as an end-of-service reward, along with an additional 6 salaries designated for accumulated leave for those with at least 25 years of service.
Dobardani elaborated that the Federal Ministry of Finance will manage the disbursement of the 12 salaries, contingent on specific conditions, while the payment for the 6 salaries related to accumulated leave will be handled by specialized departments within the region.
