Increase in Production Capacities
On January 30, 2025, Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul-Ghani affirmed the ministry’s commitment to enhancing production capabilities within the oil refining sector. Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the ministry’s advisory committee for the year, he emphasized that 2025 is set to witness a notable increase in oil derivatives production across several key projects.
Minister Abdul-Ghani highlighted the significance of the FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) project at the Southern Refineries Company, describing it as a pivotal initiative aimed at elevating the country’s refining capacity. This project is expected to play a vital role in generating higher production levels of oil derivatives.
During the meeting, attendees reviewed various topics on the agenda, focusing on decisions and directives critical for the advancement of the gas, refining, extraction, and distribution sectors.
