Economic Developments – Baghdad
On Saturday, Ziad Ali Fadel, the Minister of Electricity, announced the establishment of 24 maintenance centers across Baghdad.
According to a statement from the Minister’s office, he convened with officials from the Baghdad Electricity Distribution Company to assess the implementation stages of the emergency plan aimed at enhancing infrastructure in anticipation of the upcoming summer. During the meeting, the Minister received detailed insights from company representatives regarding the challenges faced by maintenance teams, particularly due to urban expansion and the increasing demand for services.
Minister Fadel directed the allocation of these 24 maintenance centers, strategically divided among the Rusafa area (6 centers), Al-Karkh region (6 centers), and Al-Sadr City (12 centers). This initiative is designed to improve service delivery in high-density population areas and to expedite the resolution of electrical malfunctions.
