Economic Update – Baghdad
The recent Cabinet decision has established new guidelines for the rental of agricultural lands in Iraq, formally issued during a council meeting today, Tuesday.
According to a report from the Prime Minister’s Media Office, the cabinet convened for its fifth session under the leadership of Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani and approved directives from the Ministry of Agriculture pertaining to the leasing of agricultural lands, in accordance with Law 24 of 2024. The rental prices are categorized based on land type as follows:

The statement further clarified that these rental rates will serve as a benchmark during public bidding processes and will be effective from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
