Prime Minister Muhammad Shi’a Al-Sudani reaffirmed the Iraqi government’s commitment to fostering collaboration with reputable international firms during a recent meeting in Munich. On February 15, 2025, he engaged with Stephen Tommy, the CEO of Airbus Helicopters, highlighting the importance of effective partnerships in advancing Iraq’s defense capabilities.

The Prime Minister’s office emphasized that the discussions centered around enhancing joint cooperation in critical areas such as training, maintenance, and the modernization of Iraq’s air fleet. Notably, these talks were contextualized within the framework of a bilateral agreement aimed at supplying Iraq with advanced combat helicopters. Al-Sudani urged the acceleration of contractual implementation procedures to ensure timely delivery of these vital resources.

According to the official statement, Al-Sudani reiterated the government’s intention to provide conducive environments for discreet international companies, ensuring that all necessary support is extended for their operations within Iraq.
