Al-Wasat Company has announced the implementation of artificial intelligence technology to oversee oil wells in the eastern Baghdad field, collaborating with the Chinese firm EBS. This marks a significant milestone in Iraq’s oil industry.
The company highlighted in a recent statement that the new technology, known as Deepseek-R1, enables continuous monitoring of individual wells. This advancement addresses the limitations of traditional manual inspections that have hindered timely problem detection and resolution.
The technology is designed to provide numerous benefits, including “24-hour monitoring to ensure performance reliability,” “reducing problem discovery time to mere minutes,” and “rapid risk assessment with precise recommendations.” Moreover, it incorporates a mobile application to facilitate easy tracking and management.
The Central Oil Company underscored that this innovation is a crucial step in modernizing oil fields, in collaboration with operators, ultimately aimed at enhancing productivity, lowering costs, and promoting environmental sustainability.
