**Iraq-Germany Trade Relations Achieve Milestone in 2024**
The German embassy in Iraq has reported that trade exchanges between Iraq and Germany reached approximately 1.7 billion euros in 2024. This notable figure reflects a substantial increase in commercial relations, with Germany aiming to further enhance its economic footprint in Iraq.
“Germany is committed to expanding its commercial activities in Iraq. Over the last four years, we have seen a consistent 10% rise in our exports to the country,” stated Roland and St.
He further elaborated, “Iraq has emerged as a promising market, attracting interest from investors eager to revitalize business opportunities between the two nations.”
German enterprises are keen to penetrate the Iraqi market, with notable players such as Siemens, which currently holds a significant role in Iraq’s energy and electricity sector. There is also the ARICOS company, which specializes in smart identity solutions.
“Germany has actively contributed to the reconstruction of Iraq post-ISIS, particularly in rebuilding efforts related to housing and infrastructure. Several organizations affiliated with the German Foreign Ministry are exploring initiatives to support Iraq’s economic sector,” he added.
