Emirati Tycoon Khalaf Al Habtoor Divests All Investments in Lebanon Amid Instability

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Emirati entrepreneur Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor has made a significant announcement regarding his investments in Lebanon, stating that he will liquidate all associated projects and holdings in the country.

In a recent statement, Al Habtoor expressed the challenges leading to this decision, noting, “After consulting with the board of directors of the Al Habtoor Group, I arrived at this painful conclusion, which I had hoped to avoid. However, the current lack of security and stability in Lebanon, coupled with an absence of any immediate prospects for improvement, have compelled us to undertake the following actions:

  • Cancellation of all planned investment projects in Lebanon.
  • A cease in travel to Lebanon for myself, my family, and the group’s management team.
  • Divestiture of all my assets and investments in Lebanon.

He further emphasized that these decisions were not made lightly, stating, “These actions stem from a careful assessment and continuous monitoring of the prevailing situation in Lebanon.”
